John Mpaliza, noto attivista per i diritti umani soprannominato “the peace walking man”, arriva in Puglia per difendere i diritti della Terra e delle persone.
Giunta alla sua seconda edizione, la “Marcia dei Bruchi” da lui stesso ideata, è partita da San Severo il 25 febbraio ed è attesa ora nella provincia Taranto: il 7 marzo sarà a Ginosa (partenza ore 10:00 plesso Calò, via Martiri d’Ungheria); il 10 a Grottaglie (partenza sede SSIG Pignatelli, via Campobasso n.4, ore 9:00); il 13 a San Marzano di S.G. (partenza sede I.C. Casalini, via Lazio n. 3, ore 9:30).
L’evento coinvolgerà scuole e associazioni e rappresenta la parte finale di un percorso avviato durante il quale i temi affrontati sono quelli della difesa della pace, della Terra, e dei diritti umani.
Queste le parole che Mpaliza ha usato per invitare gli studenti della regione a uscire per strada e marciare con lui: “Ogni giorno cerco di impegnarmi affinché i diritti vengano rispettati per tutti e lo faccio in un modo particolare: camminando! Ed anche voi potreste diventare degli attivisti per i diritti umani partecipando alla marcia. Tantissimi bruchi che camminano insieme e che si trasformeranno in bellissime farfalle, perché così tenteremo di trasformare il nostro bellissimo Pianeta, dando la parola ai giovani!”
Le tappe successive saranno nel brindisino e nel leccese, per concludersi a Bari il 5 aprile.

The March of the Caterpillars
John Mpaliza, a well-known human rights activist nicknamed “the peace walking man, arrives in Puglia to defend the rights of the Earth and of people.
Now in its second edition, the “March of the Caterpillars” which he himself conceived, started from San Severo on 25 February and is now expected in the province of Taranto: on 7 March it will be in Ginosa (departure at 10:00 Calò complex, via Martiri of Hungary); on the 10th in Grottaglie (departure from the SSIG Pignatelli headquarters, via Campobasso n.4, at 9:00); on the 13th in San Marzano by S.G. These are the words that Mpaliza used to invite the students of the region to go out on the streets and march with him: “Every day I try to commit myself to ensure that rights are respected for all and I do it in a particular way: by walking! And you too could become a human rights activist by participating in the march. Lots of caterpillars walking together and turning into beautiful butterflies, because in this way we will try to transform our beautiful planet, giving the floor to young people!”
The following stages will be in the Brindisi area and in the Lecce area, ending in Bari on 5 April.
