Russia, Mosca, 30 marzo 2023: Il tribunale di Timiryazevsky, a Mosca, ha condannato Mikhail Simonov, 63 anni, a sette anni di carcere per aver pubblicato dei post in cui l’autore deplorava i bombardamenti russi in Ucraina e in cui chiedeva a Dio di aver pietà per gli aggressori. L’uomo è stato condannato in base all’articolo 207.3 del Codice penale della Federazione Russa. Secondo gli inquirenti, Simonov ha pubblicato sul social network VKontakte due commenti sugli attacchi a Kiev e Mariupol. Negli ultimi anni aveva vissuto in Bielorussia e a novembre era tornato a Mosca dove, poco dopo, è stato arrestato e posto in detenzione preventiva.
Dopo il verdetto, mentre Mikhail Simonov parlava con il suo avvocato Alexander Aldaev, alcuni ascoltatori presenti in tribunale gli hanno detto: “Lei è un brava persona, ma il giudice non è umano”.

Russia: man sentenced to 7-year detention for his comments about the war in Ukraine
Russia, Moscow, March 30, 2023: The Timiryazevsky Court of Moscow sentenced 63-year-old Mikhail Simonov to seven years in prison for posts about Russian in which he deplored the bombing of Ukraine and asked God have mercy on the aggressors. The man was condemned under an article 207.3 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation. According to the investigators, he published two comments on the deadly events in Kyiv and Mariupol on the social network VKontakte. In recent years, he lived in Belarus, but in November he returned to Moscow and was put in per-trial detention shortly after.
After the verdict, as Mikhail Simonov was talking to his lawyer Alexander Aldaev, some listeners in the room told him: “You are a good fellow, but the judge is not a man”.
