Repressione del regime sandinista colpisce le processioni religiose in occasione della Settimana Santa.
Nell’ambito della politica di aggressione alla chiesa cattolica e alla libertà religiosa in generale, il regime di Daniel Ortega aveva vietato tempo fa che si svolgessero le tradizionali manifestazioni religiose pasquali nel Paese governato dalla dittatura di ferro alleata di Cuba e Russia. Nonostante il divieto, alcuni fedeli nicaraguensi hanno organizzato comunque le processioni che si tengono nella settimana più importante per i cristiani.
Le conseguenze sono state immortalate dai presenti e diffuse attraverso i social network: nelle immagini, si vedono i fedeli cristiani mentre vengono fatti oggetto della repressione fisica degli apparati del regime comunista di Ortega. In altre immagini, come ha commentato sarcasticamente l’ex presidente del Costa Rica Laura Chinchilla, “fedeli cristiani con la croce sulle spalle scappano non dalle guardie romane, ma dagli sbirri del sandinismo”.
Questo perché nella dittatura di Ortega-Murillo, celebrare la passione di Cristo e manifestare liberamente il proprio credo cristiano è diventato apertamente un atto sovversivo, e le processioni religiose sono ritenute de facto movimenti destabilizzanti che meritano tutto il peso della repressione.

Nicaragua: regime police crack down on Easter processions. Every standard of religious freedom violated in Ortega’s dictatorship
Sandinista regime crackdown hits religious processions during Holy Week.
As part of its policy of aggression against the Catholic church and religious freedom in general, Daniel Ortega’s regime had long ago banned traditional Easter religious events from taking place in the country ruled by the iron dictatorship allied with Cuba and Russia. Despite the ban, some faithful Nicaraguans still organized processions held during the most important week for Christians.
The aftermath was immortalized by those present and spread through social media: in the images, Christian faithful are seen being made the object of physical repression by the apparatuses of Ortega’s communist regime. In other images, as former Costa Rican President Laura Chinchilla sarcastically commented, “Christian faithful with the cross on their shoulders flee not from the Roman guards, but from the cops of Sandinismo.”
This is because in the Ortega-Murillo dictatorship, celebrating the passion of Christ and freely manifesting one’s Christian beliefs has openly become a subversive act, and religious processions are considered de facto destabilizing movements that deserve the full brunt of repression.
